manganese ore crushing process
Brief introduction about manganese ore
Manganese is gray-white metal with a pinkish tinge, and a very brittle but hard metallic element. Over 80% of the known world manganese resources are found in South Africa and Ukraine. Other important manganese deposits are in China, Australia, Brazil, Gabon, India, and Mexico. The United States imports manganese ore because the manganese resources in the U.S. are relatively low in manganese content per ton of ore. Importing these ores is presently more economic than mining them locally.

Application of manganese ore
Steel becomes harder when it is alloyed with manganese. It has similar applications when alloyed with aluminum and copper. Hardened steel is important in the manufacture of construction materials like I-beams (24% of manganese consumption), machinery (14% of manganese consumption), and transportation (13% of manganese consumption).
manganese ore crushing process
in manganese ore crushing and grinding process, the most commonly used crushers and grinding mills are jaw crusher, cone crusher, hammer crusher and ball mill, ultrafine grinding mill, etc. It is usually a complete production line for manganese ore crushing.
manganese ore crushing begins with the communition of extracted ore in preparation for further activities to achieve ore values. Crushing operations are designed to produce uniform size particles by crushing, grinding, and wet or dry classification. The capital investment and operation costs of milling equipment are high. For this reason, it is important for us to choose the suitable crushing equipment. Factors that decide the choosing of crushing machine include the value concentration of the ore, its mineralogy, hardness, and moisture content.
Crushing is a multistaged process and may use dry or wet ore feed. Typically, primary crushing take place at the mine site. Primary crushing is accomplished by using jaw crusher or cone crushers. Primary crushing yields chunks of ore ranging in size from 6 to 10 inches.Oversize material is passed through additional crushers and classifiers to achieve the desired particle size. The ore is then crushed and sized at a secondary milling facility.
Jaw crusher for manganese ore: Jaw crusher is used in primary crushing station. It can crush manganese ore into smaller sizes. Thus, these small manganese ore can be fed into mill such as ball mill for grinding.
impact crusher is generally used after jaw crusher, and can crush hard stones, not only the manganese ore, but also other ores such as copper, bauxite, gold, Kaolinite, manganese etc.
Secondary milling (comminution) further reduces particle size and prepares the ore for beneficiation processes that require finely ground ore feed. The product manganese from this additional crushing is usually less than 1 inch (1/2 to 3/4 inches). Secondary crushing, if necessary and economical, is accomplished by using standard cone crushers or impact crusher.
Cone crusher is the most common fine crusher, and usually used as final crushing machine. It has four types: spring cone crusher, CS cone crusher, hydraulic cone crusher, hcs90 cone crusher. Each cone crusher has their different applications.
Subsequent fine grinding further reduces the ore particles to the consistency of fine powder (325 mesh,0.0017 inches, 0.44 microns). The choice of grinding circuit is based on the density and hardness of the ore to be ground.Ball mill was used as manganese ore grinding mill. In manganese ore concentrator, it was used to grind manganese ore into fine powder.
Vibrating manganese feeder and screening machine used in manganese ore mining
Vibrating manganese feeder is used to feed manganese ore evenly to manganese ore crushing and grinding machine.
Vibrating manganese screen is the screening machine. It screens out the appropriate manganese ore particles, these particles enter into ball mill for grinding.
In order to make the size of manganese ore materials as fine as possible before entering into milling machine, the crusher must have an excellent fine crushing capability to reduce manganese ore size. To achieve this crushing effect, two grades of jaw crushers and one fine crusher (high thin breaker machine) are applied in the crushing process. Two types of jaw crushers are coarse and fine jaw crushers. Tertiary fine crushing machine is the key of the whole production line.
As the professional manufacturer of complete sets of mining machinery in mining industry, SBM is always doing the best in products and service.
